Since the development in
this area is minimal it is not propos~~d to pro~Tide channelization for
this reach. Flood PlaiD Zoning :Ls re::omnelld(~d for the entire reach.

The Interstate Highway 70 at SUd.ion, J, :!_12+60 has sufficient capa-

city to adequately pass the 100-year [lood I.ows without overtopping the

bridge. Hence no changes in water\.;ay is recommended. However J adequate

riprap protection should be provided. The Smith Road, also called the

Arapahoe Highway 81 crossing, wiLl be overtopped even for a 10-year

flood. No structural improvements are n~comlllencled for this cross1ng.

The reach of First Creek upstream of Smith Road at Station 1,240+70

is outside thE scope of this study. l{owl~vf'r, st.udi.es for this reach

were limited to hydrological studies tha~ have 3n impact on the re:;t of

the basin downstream.

Tributary T Imp!:."veme.!'!~,--=_ Ilra_",i[jKs .2L..1:cll2:()..':'EI1__:g

The reach of Tributary T studied extends from Station 0+00 to Sta-

tion 306+00. These intersections include Pi cadilly Hoad; East Branch of

the 3ighline Canal; Gun Club Road; unimproved road along the West line

of S.19, T3S, R6SW, and 26t.h Avenue. The stream channel between its confluence with First

Cree:{ and Picildilly Road is well defined: wide ~lnd deep enough to ade-

quat"ly handle the 100-year flood flo,,'.
