studies for over 100 communities throughout the United States. We
have prepared over 30 complete flood control master plans for
communities in the western United States. This experience in
preparing master plans has allowed us to develop significant expertise
in the areas of hydrology and hydraulics and the modeling tools
typically used to analyze these, such as HEC-1 and HEC-2. In addition
to this, our regional experience has allowed us to develop an
understanding of the unique characteristics of hydrology and
hydraulics in the western United States.

. Experience with Floodplain Manag1ement. Montgomery Watson
has prepared floodplain management resources for FEMA and local
agencies. This includes floodplain maps, flood alert plans and
flood way stud ies for land use control. We have also prepared river
corridor studies which incorporate floodplain management objectives
with land use, agriculture, recreation and other objectives. This has
given us an understanding of the hazards which flooding represents,
the ways in which flood control facilities are intended to operate,
the design limitations on these facilities, and the devastation which
can occur when facilities fail or their capacities are exceeded.

. Coordination with Flood-Related Ag,encies. Montgomery Watson
has successfully performed projects for, and coordinated projects
with, a broad range of flood control related agencies including the
USGS, Corps of Engineers, National Weather Service, FEMA, National
Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and
CDOT, as well as the CWCB. Our extensive experience and strong
technical background allow coordination efforts with agencies to
proceed smooth Iy and exped itiously.

. Full Services in a local Office. The Denver office of Montgomery
Watson has all the necessalY resources required to perform detailed
reviews of the floodplain studies that will be included in this project.
Our local project team has extensive experience in the areas of
hydrology, hydraulics, modeling and floodplain studies and is often
used as a technical resource in these areas by other offices throughout
Montgomery Watson.

4

eweB FLOODPl.AIN STUDY REVIEW AND DESIGNATI()~ !'RCIGRl\~l

~!IO~r'GOMFF'" "J',T50h' ~$
