SECTION 3

.

G EN ERAll (~UAI.I FICATIIONS
AND FIR~v\ IExPERIENCE

Montgomery Watson has acquired a wide range of experience and
qualifications necessary to carry out the Floodplain Study Review and
Designation Program. The general qualifications of our firm and our
Denver Office are highlighted below:

. Experience with Hydrology and Hydraulics. The two basic
ingredients of any floodplain study are hydrology and hydraulics.
These two areas of expertise have been the career focus of each of
our project team members who bring to the CWCB a combined 63
years of experience. Project team members have been personally
responsible for watershed hydrologic modeling using HEC-1, SWMM,
TR-20, regression equations and other methodologies for over 50
communities in the western United States. The project team has
also conducted hydraulic modeling studies using HEC-2 and more
recently HEC-RAS for over 600 stream miles.

. Experience with Flood Insurance Studies. Both Montgomery
Watson as a firm and the local team we have proposed for this
project have extensive experience in conducting Flood Insurance
Studies. Montgomery Watson has been one of FEMA's study
contractors for over 20 years and has carried out Flood Insurance
Studies for 55 communities in 7 states including 40 communities in
the western United States. Further, the project team we have
proposed for the Floodplain Study Review and Designation Program
has been directly involved in Flood Insurance Re..Studies for over
10 communities. Having extensive experience conducting the type
of study to be reviewed in this project is an important prerequisite
for selection. Extensive experience in conducting floodplain studies
will assure that the study review process will proceed smoothly and
that the respective communities will receive both accurate and useful
floodplain information.

. Experience with Other Types of Floodplain Studies. In addition
to our extensive experience in conducting Flood Insurance Studies,
Montgomery Watson has conducted other types of flood hazard

3

eweB FLOODPLAIN STUDY REVIHV A'lD DESIGl\iA1IO'\i Pf~C)CiV\\'

'1("\1"'(-'""-'" "'0' c." l2Tl\
\'_11 "'::_Mlq:.-;t--- '!\!-",I,;l".,_pj\, ~~~)
