RELEVANT PROJECT
EXPERIENCE

The following projects demonstrate our ability to successfully complete
the Floodplain Study Review and Designation Program for the CWCB.

Jordan River Flood Insurance Study

Montgomery Watson has recently completed a FEMA sponsored Revised
Flood Insurance Study for approximately 10 miles of the Jordan River
immediately downstream of Utah Lake in Utah County, Utah. A new
H EC-2 model ofthe stream was developed incorporating approximately
50 newly surveyed cross sections, and water surface elevations used for
model calibration. Modeling included 5 bridge structures, reaches of
levees not certified by FEMA, complicated overbank flow conditions
and floodway determination. We successfully coordinated our work both
with FEMA and Michael Baker Jr., Inc., FEMA's technical reviewer who
is currently producing the revised floodplain maps.

Mitigation Study

In September of 1998, Montgomery Watson completed a study
of alternatives to alleviate frequent flooding in the Town of
Georgetown, Colorado. Flooding sources consist of Clear Creek
and South Clear Creek which confluence near the center of the
town. The existing FIS for the town was reviewed and hydrologic
and hydraulic data was utilized in conjunction with floodplain
