Analysis of the hydraulics for the basin to
determine the extent and severity of existing and
projected future floodinq,
6. Damage assessments within flood prone areilS,
7, Preparation of preliminary designs and cost
estimates for the most feasible alternative
improvement scheme,
8. Consistent evaluation of the alternatives and a
recommendation as to the best drainage improvement
scheme.
9. preparation of final report,

The West Vine Drainage Basin below Overland Trail is approxi-

mately 50 percent developed as of the writing of

of flood hazard areas

and major drainageways, development has occurred over the
historical flow path and consequently, some of these develop-
ments have experienced frequent and rather serious drainage
related problems, In an effort to alleviate the drainage
problems which already exist and to insure that future develop-
ments are not constructed in flood hazard areas, the City of
Fort Collins,in cooperation with the Colorado Water Conservation
Board (CWCB), initiated a study of the basin referred to as
the West Vine Drainage Basin Study, In Junc of 1980 Engineering
Professionals, Inc. Throughout the course of this study valuable assistance
and information was given by these individuals, and their help
has been greatly appreciated.
