WEEPING WATEIt CREEK, NEBRASKA Flood of 30 April - 1 May 1. Cause. - On 30 April a general rain oocurred over Weeping Water Creek basin .and adjaoent areas. Total preoipitation for the storm ranged fram 4 inches at Nehawka, Nebraska, in the lower basin to 2.5.inohes in the upper basin area in the vioinity of Elmwood andUnadilla, Neb~aska. The o~nter of intensity appears to have been from the vicinity of Union, Nebraska, and to the southwest along the South Branoh of WEleping Water Creek. Runoff from this storm: caused overbank flow on.the.main stem and several of its tributaries in the central and lower portions of'th~.basin. 2. Extent.-: OVerbank. flow began on.Weeping Water Creek at the town of Weeping Water and inoreased slightly downstream there- from. High sta~es on theN~th Branoh added materially to the main st~ flooding. The South Br~noh'of Weeping ~ter Creek was also over- . .f~owing its bI1.nksand, the outflow from this stream oaused widespread flooding along the main stem below the confluence of the two streams. 3.
