The maximum.flcod o,r.record.at this <br />station occurred in June 1950, at which time.. a 26"0.~foot stage <br />and 55,500 c.f.s. wore observed. <br /> <br />. . . <br />4. Duration.- Each of the floods lasted approximately ~~.h6urs. <br /> <br />6. Dama~es.- A total area estimated at. approximately 12,740 <br />acres was flooded. Actual crop losses were not severe as. no. large <br />portion of the area was planted; however, there was a considerable <br />potential crop loss due to the ground remaining too. wet to plant. <br />No municipal areas or farmsteads were flooded. Tnere was no loss <br />of human life or of livestock. State Highway.2 wa~ overtopped <br />east of Sidney and closed to traffic. State High~ay 42 was closed <br />near Riverton.
