Due to the rather limited
benefits derived from the improvements, the alternatives for the
reaches where little or no benefits were being obtained were eliminated.
Plan E was derived which contained basin splitting of the storm
runoff and utilization of the water supply ponds for detention storage.
However, due to the legal opinion pertaining to basin splitting, Plan
E was modified and the basin splitting of the storm runoff was
eliminated.
Reach 1 -- Lamar to Ingalls Street: status quo, except floodplain
zoning
Reach 2 -- Ingalls Street to Eaton Street: status quo, except
floodplain zoning
Reach 3 -- Eaton Street to Sheridan Blvd.: status quo, except
floodplain zoning
Reach 4 -- Hidden Lake: construct spillway and outlet works and
improve the dam embankment per PMP Type storm, subject to
approval by State Engineer.
