Other alternative plans were defined and
discussed as to advantages and disadvantages.
The Phase A report was submitted to the U.D. & F.C.D. on June
18, 1975. The report was reviewed by the participating entities and
a notice to proceed on the Phase B design of the recommended alter-
natives was received on July 30, 1975. The purpose of the Phase B
portion of the study can be summarized as follows:
Prepare a preliminary design of the subject drainage courses for
the selected alternative plan. The design shall be of adequate detail
to permit U.D. & F.C.D., Arvada and Adams County to properly plan
bridges and culverts for new vehicular thoroughfare construction.
The plan shall also be in sufficient detail to permit the acquisition
of needed channel right-of-way and to permit the planning of new sub-
divisions and buildings with full knowledge of future channel and
floodplain locations and characteristics. The drawings shall also
show the plan and profile of the 100 year floodplain under existing and
improved channel conditions for fully developed flows, in sufficient
detail to allow administration of the floodplain regulations. The
scope of work included the following:
1. Prepare final hydrologic and hydraulic studies to determine the
magnitude and volume of the storm runoff to be subsequently used
in the preliminary design of drainage facilities of the selected
alternate plan.
2. Prepare preliminary design of the drainage facilities on 1" =
100' plan and profile maps with a contour interval of two feet.
3. Prepare a detailed cost estimate of the proposed improvements
for Arvada, Adams County and the total drainageway.
