All significant local planning issues for which the team has the necessary expertise and data will be resolved
during the workshop. This will assure, for instance, that a proposed hazard mitigation measure will not
adversely affect wildlife resources, or that a proposal for rehabilitation of a flood-damaged structure will not
result in increased future hazards.
. A basin-wide approach to hazard mitigation will allow for the most effective mitigation at the lowest possible cost.
. The proposed "bottom-up" planning approach will result in a plan that is strongly to exclusively reflective of
local interests and one developed with the best expertise that federal and state technical experts can offer. Thus,
the plan will be popular locally and professional in content and appearance.
. This strong partnership approach among all levels of government to serve local needs means that there are also
many more hands to share in the work of plan development and implementation.

For additional information on this effort, please refer to the workshop prospectus or contact the
following individuals:

[names, addresses, and phone numbers]

.
