- 24 -

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

and that no additional areas that are shown free
from flooding should be included? Describe any
areas where you feel that changes should be made or
need further investigation, Discuss local
official's ability to provide technical data to
justify changes or to assist us in making any that
prove warranted. Describe local official's
familiarity with the LOMA and map revision
processes.

6. Community Compliance Activities: Your goal in this
part of the report is to describe the community's
efforts and process to ensure that its regulations are
met. Your sources for this discussion are the checklist
at Part 7 E of the CRF and your notes on the local
officials meeting (page 12). Summarize local officials'
response to your request for a description of their
enforcement process, e.g., what office and how many
staff are involved, what types of activities are
performed and examples of enforcement actions.

7. Permit File Review: Your goal in the permit file
write-up is to make clear to the reader the availability
and adequacy of the community's development records.
Your sources are the checklist at BA of the CRF and your
notes or the inspection at page 14. First, provide some
general information - does the community have any
development records or permit files? If so, describe
how easily they can be accessed. Next, use the BA
checklist to describe the adequacy of community records.
Is information included in the files on elevation,
anchoring, floodproofing, substantial improvements, etc.
Are certifications available for elevation,
floodproofing, floodway rise determinations, etc. If
variances have been allowed, describe their adequacy.
Did you find evidence of mobile home evacuation plans,
notification of adjacent communities for stream
alterations, BFE's for subdividions, etc. Finally, give
your assessment of whether the community's development
records support what you observed in the field and were
told during your meetings with lenders, agents and local
officials. Attach any information such as permit forms
or floodplain-related checklists if they will improve
the reader's understanding of the report,

B. Lenders and Insurance Agent Meetings: You have two
goals in preparing this part of the report: to describe
the adequacy of lenders' and agents' response to their
NFIP-related responsibilities and to report any
information they provided that assisted you in
evaluating the community's floodplain management
program. Your sources are the notes and checklists on
pages 5, B-ll and 16 of the CRF,
