The reviewer needs to answer six questions during <br />the local officals meeting: (1) what procedure is used <br />to review development proposals; (2) how adequate are <br />current ordinanc~s; (3) are current maps available; (4) <br />are there problems with the maps; (5) how competent are <br />local staff in using them; and (6) what procedure is <br />used to ensure compliance with local floodplain <br />regulations. <br /> <br />2. In your meeting with local officialS, use the <br />checklist at Part 7 of the CRF as a guide to evaluate <br />their floodplain management program, as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Introduction <br /> <br />Number 1 - Describe the purpose of the meeting, <br />summarize the agenda and give an estimate of the <br />meeting's duration. Be sure to describe some of <br />your preparations, especially the floodplain tour, <br />to establish your familiarity with the local <br />situation. Also, hand out an attendance list. <br />
