The primary contact in Crowley County is Carol Mumm (7 I 9) 267-324E,. The road and bridge crew
should have some technical data regarding the flooding. Mark has no data for Crowley County. Of
all the southern counties, Crowley County ranks number 4 in Mark's opinion in terms of potential
success in quantifying the precipitation and hydrology associated with the flooding.

There is a flood insurance study available for Ordway.

Kim-va Countv

The primary contact in Kiowa County is Dutch Eikenberg (719) 438-5421. Mark has no data for
Kiowa County. Of all the southern counties, Kiowa County tics with Crowley County in Mark's
opinion in terms of potential success in quantifying thc precipitation and hydrology associated with
the flooding.

A good source of weather, precipitation, and general flood data for these counties will come from
newspaper articles. No action items were established with Mark Matulil:.

March 27, 1998 at 9:45 am Meeting with Brian Hyde

Talked to Brian Hyde about Clear Creek, Larimer, Elbert, and Lincoln Counties. In general, the
storms and flooding experienced in these counties occurred in late July and early August.

Clear Creek County

The primary contact in Clear Creek County is Laura Ohmon (303) 569-3251 ext 382. The watershed
that was hit the hardest is Witter Gulch but other watersheds also experienced flooding. Therc are
discrepancies in the amounts of precipitation reported above 7500 feet. Bob Jarrett reported only 2-3
inches of rain above 7500 feet, but it is likely that more than this actually occurred. This scems like
a good event to reconstruct the storm from radrtf data. It i~ possible that John Henz may get funding
from Kevin Stewart to reconstruct this storm event.

Brian has started computing discharges for the Clear Creek event. Brian has agreed to complete his
discharge estimates for use in the documentation.

Brian also mentioned that the road and bridge crews \vill be a good source of information.

Larimer Countv

Most of the Larimer County information was already passed on to RTi. Brian did supply RTi with a
red folder (originally Tom Browning's folder) with additional information concerning Larimcr
County. Brian would like to see a plot of the chronology .of 9 I I calls experienced by the county.

Do not let the Spring Creek discussion dominate the documentation for Larimer County. Make sure
to talk about all the other basins in equal detail. Also make sure to explain the relationship between
the CSU campus and the City drainage basins.

Elbert COUl1tv
