<br />9.A.(9) The en9tneer shall give the State En9ineer at least <br />14 days advance written notice of the engineer's final construction <br />Inspection. <br /> <br />9.A.(l0) The en9ineer shall notify the State Engineer of <br />the completion of the construction In accordance with Rule 10. <br /> <br />9.B. For Minor, Class I Oams, and Large,lntermediate, and Small <br />dam$ rated as Class II, the owner shall provide an engineer <br />experienced in dam desi9nand construction, who shall be responsible <br />for the following: <br /> <br />9.B.(I) Not less than 30 days prior to construction or as <br />soon as pOSSible for dams whose construction season .Is affected by <br />freezing weather, the engineer aust notify the State Engineer tn <br />writing of the following: <br /> <br />9.B.(I)(a) The date of the start of construction; <br /> <br />9.B. (I)(b) The names and qualifications of the engineer <br />and staff to be used on the project; , <br /> <br />9.B.(I)(c) A schedule for construction observation by <br />the engineer, including the foundation of the dam; <br /> <br />9.B.(I)(d) Identification of the firm that wtll conduct <br />the construction matertal tests; and <br /> <br />9.B.(I)(e) A schedule of the construction material <br /> <br />tests. <br /> <br />9.B.(2) The engin.er shall observe the constructton of the <br />dam. It Is the engineer's responSibility to make pertodtc visits to <br />observe the progress and quality of the construction in order to <br />determine whether the construction is proceeding in accordancewtth <br />the approved plans and specifications. The engineer shall endeavor to <br />guard against defects and deficiencies in the construction of the dam, <br />and shall disapprove or reject the work. fail ing to conform to the <br />approved plans and specifications. Photographs of the progress of the <br />construction shall be taken for the record. <br /> <br />9.B.(3) The engineer shall submit periodic reports as <br />requested by the State Engineer and shall compile a record of all <br />tests conducted, a summary of geologic Information as related to the <br />foundations. and any prOblems and remedies, for submittal at the end <br />of construction. <br /> <br />- 33 . <br />
