Adequate time <br />(minimum 15 calendar days) will be allowed on the register for review and <br />approval and possible resubmittal of items subject to approval, because no <br />delay damages or time extensions will be allowed for time lost in late <br />submittals or resubmittals for such items. <br /> <br />4.1.4 Review of Register: The Contracting Officer will review the <br />Submittal Register for approval action. The column designated "Tech Review" <br />will also be completed by the Contracting Officer to establish the correct <br />addressee set forth below for direct mailings of submittals by the <br />Contractor. A copy of the Submittal Register so marked in the "Tech Review" <br />column will be promptly returned to the Contractor. <br /> <br />4.1.5 Application to Contract: The approved register will become a part <br />of the contract and Contractor will be subject to requirements thereof. The <br />Contractor's Quality Control Representative shall review the listing at least <br />every 30 days and take appropriate action to maintain an effective system. <br />Copies of updated or corrected listings shall be submitted to the Contracting <br />Officer at least every 60 days, or oftener if requested, in the quantity <br />specified. This register and the progress schedules shall be coordinated. <br />Payment for materials delivered or incorporated into the work will not be <br />allowed if the submittal register has not been presented in its entirety as <br />hereinbefore specified. <br /> <br />4.2 SUBMITTAL PROCESS: The Contractor shall submit all items listed on <br />the contract drawings and listed or specified in these specifications. The <br />Contracting Officer may request submittals in addition to those listed when <br />deemed necessary to adequately describe the work covered in the respective <br />sections. All submittals shall be reviewed and checked by the Contractor's <br />Quality Control Representative and each respective submittal form shall be <br />stamped, initialed and dated by the Contractor's Quality Control Represen- <br />tative certifying that the accompanying submittal complies with the contract <br />requirements. Submittals shall be made in the respective number of copies <br />and to the respective addresses set forth below. Submittals shall include <br />such items as: Contractor's, manufacturer's or fabricator's drawings; <br />descriptive literature including (but not limited to) certificates of <br />compliance, catalogue cuts, diagrams, operation charts or curves; test <br />reports; test cylinders; samples; O&M manuals including spare parts lists; <br />and other such required submittals. Submittals pertinent to materials and <br />equipment which are subject to approval shall be scheduled and made prior to <br />the acquisition or the delivery thereof. <br /> <br />4.2.1 Categories of Submittals: The categories of items specified to be <br />submitted, and the processing thereof, shall be submitted as follows: <br /> <br />4.2.1.1 Category I: All items listed as Category I submittals in the <br />various sections shall be mailed directly to the addressee shown below as <br />directed. For each submittal a completed information copy of the attached <br />SUBMITTAL FORM shall also be mailed to the Area Engineer and to the <br />Construction Division of the Omaha District. <br /> <br />lA-3 <br />
