Typically, these jurisdictions do not coop- <br />erate to solve drainage problems. Funding priorities in communities are often a <br />reason for this problem. Different communities in a similar geographic area of- <br />ten develop different master/comprehensive plans. These planning efforts often <br />address local interests and do not have a basinwide perspective. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> <br />. Expand and continue training for local government officials regard- <br />ing comprehensive planning and take that opportunity to promote <br />regional intergovernmental cooperation <br />. Educate the public and locol officials about the advantages of <br />intergovernmental cooperation <br />.
