<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Colorado Project No. NH 0504-042 <br />SH 50 at Rocky Ford <br />Construction Subaccount No. 13561 <br /> <br />7/2/01 <br /> <br />-2- <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN - GENERAL <br /> <br />The Contractor shall remove and reset all existing signs prior to performing any work that affects those signs. All <br />signs damaged due to Contractor operations shall be replaced in kind or repaired by the Contractor at no cost to the <br />project. An inventory of all existing signs shall be made with the Engineer prior to beginning the work. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall not have equipment or materials in the lanes open to traffic at any time. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall equip all vehicles with flashing amber lights visible from all directions. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall not place tack coat on any surface where traffic will be forced to travel on fresh bituminous <br />material. <br /> <br />Traffic control devices shall not be stored on the shoulder or slopes of any roadway except hehind guardrail unless <br />laid flat; nor shall traffic control devices be stored in any landscaped area unless otherwise designated or permitted. <br /> <br />WORK HOUR RESTRICTIONS <br /> <br />No work shall be performed at night or on Sunday. <br /> <br />HOLIDAYS & SPECIAL EVENTS <br /> <br />Work that interferes with traffic during special events, as determined by the Engineer, or any day of a three-day or <br />four-day holiday weekend will not be permitted. <br /> <br />CONSTRUCTION ACCESS <br /> <br />Construction access to and from all roadways is prohibited unless approved by the Engineer or otherwise specified <br />in the Contract. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall prepare and submit a construction access plan as part of the method of handling traffic, which <br />shall be approved by the Engineer prior to beginning work. This plan shall contain hut not be limited to a diagram <br />showing the access to and from each affected roadway, location and duration of each signing and flagger position, <br />and narrative explanation. <br /> <br />The construction access plan shall address access to all of the areas of work. Access to all work areas will be limited <br />to that which can be safely accomplished without hazard to traffic and which does not interfere with traffic during <br />the times specified. Access will not be allowed to any work areas where such access requires the implementation of <br />traffic control measures that interfere with the flow of traffic except where such implementation is in compliance <br />with the working time limitations in the Contract. <br /> <br />Unless otherwise included in the plans or directed by the Engineer, the Contractor shall maintain access to all <br />roadways, road approaches and driveways at all times. <br /> <br />The access maintenance plan required as part of the MHT in Subsection 630.08 shall be coordinated with all <br />affected owners and tenants. The access approval signature of each affected owner or tenant shall be required. If <br />the Contractor is unable to obtain approval and signatures, documentation of "good faith efforts" to obtain said <br />approval and signatures shall be submitted. <br /> <br />19 <br />
