<br />These guidelines are provided as rules of thumb for the organization and style of written <br />submittals for CWCB planning studks. It is recognized that any rule is subject to exception and <br />that each person has a unique style of writing. The application of generally accepted principles <br />of report writing and the use of these guidelines should result in a final product in which both <br />the study consultant and the CWCB can take pride. <br /> <br />C. Report Organization <br /> <br />Each planning report must include the following items in the order listed: <br /> <br />Title Page <br />Project Name <br />Date (month and year) <br />Prepared for (Project Sponsor and CWCB) <br />Prepared by (NaIlle of Firm) <br /> <br />Certificate of the Engineer <br />Executive Summary <br />Table of Contents <br />List of Tables <br />List of Figures <br />Acknowledgments <br />Introduction (Chapter 1) <br />Individual Chapters <br />Glossary <br />References <br />Appendices <br /> <br />The Executive Summary should provide an overview of th,: entire study. It should <br />summarize the study process and the major fmdings of the study and should serve as an <br />independent document. <br /> <br />Appendices should be used whenever large amounts of data must be displayed or when <br />lengthy, detailed explanations of stlldy procedures or analyses are required. <br /> <br />D. Report Specifications <br /> <br />1. All final reports should be submitted on plain white paper measuring 8-1/2 <br />inches by II inches in size. <br /> <br />2. All tables, maps and figures should be capable of h~ing folded to 8-1/2 inches <br />by 11 inches in sj,'.e. <br /> <br />C-2 <br />
