'" . . .. . .. . . . . .. . . , .. . . :"~lf <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) has a series of activities <br />a community can do to obtain credit towards reducing flood insurance <br />premiums for the community's property owners, The series of <br />activities is called the Community Rating System (CRS). One of the <br />activities is to write a comprehensive floodplain management plan, In <br />lieu of following the Flood Risk Mitigation Plan requirements outlined <br />in this section, a community may write a CRS floodplain management <br />plan. Plans written through the CRS program and approved by FEMA <br />are automatically eligible for submission through the FMA program. <br />Appendix 5 contains a FEMA approved CRS floodplain management <br />plan.
