Funds are .available for a <br />variety of activities including flood mitigation, <br />Grant applications are accepted on a yearly <br />basis and due by March 16, Applications <br />may be obtained by calling the CDBG ~ <br />office at (573) 751-4146, ., <br /> <br />. - <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A, <br /> <br />Maintain database of all property owners within the <br />i OO-year floodplain. <br />On a yearly basis, send informational brochure or flyer <br />reminding residents and business owners of the flood <br />risk and encouraging the purchase of flood insurance. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />IV, Acquire and demolish or relocate all residential and commerciat <br />properties within the IOO-year f1oodptain. <br /> <br />A, Prioritize I OO-year floodplain targeted for acquisition <br />or relocation on a "first priority", "'second priority" etc. <br />basis, <br />B, Actively apply for grant funds made available <br />through the Community Development Block Grant and <br />Ftood Mitigation Assistance Program grant programs, <br />C, Maintain currency of real estate for sale within 100- <br />year floodplain and provide updates to city council for <br />possible acquisition with city funds, <br /> <br />V. <br /> <br />Develop I DO-year floodplain into green (open) space. Requirement #4: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Identification and evaluation of cost-effective and technically feasible <br />mitigation actions considered. <br /> <br />Mitigation actions are those actions the community will pursue to reduce <br />the risk of flooding. The majmity of "actions" will eventually become <br />"projects". The Flood Mitigation Assistance Program requires that to <br />receive a Project Grant, the type of project being proposed in the grant <br />request must be identified in the Plan.
