History books, newspaper and television reports, Flood history <br />information may be available from these sources. <br /> <br />Requirement Number 3 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. Requirement #3: <br /> <br />The local jurisdiction's floodplain management goals for the area <br />covered by the Plan, <br /> <br />Floodplain management goals will vary depending on the size of the <br />community and the vision of its leaders and citizens. Examples include: <br /> <br />I. Compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program, <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />A, <br /> <br />Enforce the floodplain ordinance adopted June 13. <br />1987. <br />Implement system to monitor floodplain development <br />permits issued to include site visits during development <br />phase, <br />With the issuance of a floodplain development permit, <br />provide informational materials on proper <br />floodproofing etc, and information on how to apply for <br />flood insurance. <br />Schedule 6-month floodplain drive-bys. Ensure that <br />floodplain development permit issued for any new <br />development identified during drive-by, <br />Coordinate with the State Floodplain Coordinator on all <br />no-rise certificates issued. <br />Maintain "good standing" designation after each state <br />and or federal Community Assistance Visit (CA V). <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />C, <br /> <br />D, <br /> <br />E, <br /> <br />F, <br /> <br />II, Construction of city/county facilities. <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />A. The construction of city/county facilities within the <br />IOO-year floodplain will only be considered after a full <br />range of alternative sites have been identified and <br />determined not practical or feasible. <br />B, Any city/county facility located in the 100-year <br />floodplain will be insured by the National Flood <br />Insurance Program in an amount equal to the <br />replacement value ofthe structure and contents. <br /> <br />Reduce the financial loss of flood damage for citizens and <br />business owners already living or conducting business in the <br />IOO-year floodplain by promoting the National Flood Insurance <br />Program, <br /> <br />Flood Risk Mitigation Plan <br />
