Inform DODeS concerning the variety <br />and scale of potential mental health <br />problems following a disaster; coor- <br />dinated needs for federal assistance <br />with SEOC. <br /> <br />2, Evaluate the mental heatth impact of a <br />disaster, and make recommendations <br />to DODES (SEOC, when activated) for a <br />specific crisis counseling program <br />under PL 93-288. <br /> <br />3. Validate and aggregate damage assess- <br />ment to Instttutlonal facllttles under tts <br />control. Provide DODES a summary of <br />results, <br /> <br />29 <br /> <br />4. Provide Inspectors to participate In <br />damage assessment and damage sur- <br />vey of Instttutional facllttles, <br /> <br />5. Within three months after a disaster, <br />submtt recommendations to DODES for <br />the establishment of Improved <br />response, recovery, and mitigation <br />measures, <br /> <br />6, Provide for continuity of leadership and <br />operations, Establish a line of succes- <br />sion for each key posttlon wtthln the <br />department! agency and tts subordinate <br />elements to ensure that the department! <br />agency can continue to perform Its es- <br />sential actlvttles. Identify all records and <br />other documents vital to continuity of <br />operations, Establish a method to <br />preserve same by copying, microfiche, <br />or other means for safekeeping at an al- <br />temate location. Develop a plan to relo- <br />cate all essential elements of the <br />department/agency In event of a major <br />natural or man-made disaster. Be <br />prepared to move staff and critical <br />documents to a different base (s) of <br />operations as designated by the Gover- <br />nor, Be prepared to conduct operations <br />for an extended period at the attemate <br />location. <br />
