<br />Allril 1993 <br /> <br />Delta County <br />Gunnison County <br />Ouray <br />Paonia <br />San Juan County <br />Basalt <br /> <br /> <br />On April 14. 1993. staff members of the Flood Control and Floodplain Management Section <br />participated in a "State Agency Disaster Coordinators I'lazard Mitigation Tcam Meeting" to begin <br />preparations for spring flooding. <br /> <br />Next, the CWCB arranged tours of Colorado's flood-threatened areas with representatives of the <br />Colorado Office of Emergency Management, the State Engineer's Office, the State Geologist's Office and <br />the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's. Sacramento District for the week of April 19-24, 1993. After a flood <br />threat analysis from local officials who responded 10 the March flood threat inquiry. the following <br />communities were visited: <br /> <br />Grand Junction <br />Mesa County <br />Garfield Coumy <br />Parachute <br />Pitkin County <br />Durango <br /> <br />Delta <br />Gunnison <br />Ouray County <br />Silverlon <br />La Plata County <br /> <br />"Advanced Measures" were provided individually to each community. Advanced measures can be <br />defined as actual "on-ground" activities which are an attempt to reduce flood damages prior to a flooding <br />event.
