. Determine requirements for routine and spe-
cial reports.

. Synthesize data to provide Impect Task For-
ces (below) with water availability/shortage
estimates by river basin,

. Identify resource Information gaps and make
recommendations to address same.

TF #2-9 - Impacts (see Annexes A and C for
additional details):

Tasks general to all Impacts assessment task
forces.

. Identify potential and existing drought re-
lated problems.

. Further define and assess societal Impacts,
severity, loss and costs; evaluate State and
local capacity for response; determine
residual needs.

Report findings to:

. Review and Reporting TF.

. Lead response agencies (see Response
Task Organization).

. Economic TF (Economic Loss Data).

Specific Tasks:

TF #2 - Municipal Water:

. Assessments should emphasize identifica-
tion of municipal water supply sources, such
as reservoirs, direct stream flow, ground
water.

. Include analysis of municipal fire fighting
capacities related to low system pressures
or low supplies.

TF #3 - Wildfire Protection:

. Identify high priority threats,

. Assessments should emphasize fire protec-
tion capabilities, resources, outside sources
of assistance.

TF #4 - Agricultural Industry:

. Assessments should emphasize soli erosion,
crop and livestock loss, Insect and pest
problems.

. Status of credit availability.

TF #5 - Tourism:

. Assessments should emphasize loss of
sales tax revenues, and decreases In
tourism visitation levels and lodging receipts.

. Assessments should emphasize losses of
game, fish, and non-game wildlife by wildlife
region.

. Assessments should emphasize losses of
game, fish and non-game wildlife by wildlife
region.

TF #7 - Economic:

. Aggregate economic loss data from other
Impact TFs, by sector or region.

. Utilize economic modeling as appropriate.

TF #8 - Energy Loss:

. Organize and initiate assessment action ac-
tivities on recommendation of Review and
Reporting Task Force.

Assessments should emphasize potential
reduction In hydroelectric energy produc-
tion, overall loss of energy production, and
Impacts on user groups.
