<br />property, and occupying a space greater than one <br />hundred square feet, shall be constructed or lo- <br />cated so that an external wall shall be not less <br />than fifteen feet from the stream side of the low <br />hazard zone. <br />(3) The lowest floor of any such building or structure <br />shall be not less than one foot above the maximum <br />water elevation of the computed intermediate re- <br />gional flood, unless such building or structure has <br />been adequately floodproofed to or over one foot <br />above said maximum water elevation. <br />(4) In the event that the floodwaters in a low hazard <br />zone can be expected to attain a velocity greater <br />than three feet per second, additional floodproof- <br />ing shall be required sufficient to withstand such <br />greater velocity. <br />THERE IS ADDED to Section 480 (NON CONFORMANCE) <br />8. Exemptions - Flood Hazard District: The provisions of <br />this section shall not apply to any device or structure <br />located in the Flood Hazard District and reasonably <br />necessary for the diversion or storage of water or for <br />flood control or prevention. <br />THERE IS ADDED to Section 500 (ENFORCEMENT) (1) (a) an addi- <br />tional paragraph to be inserted after the first paragraph. <br />In addition to the above requirements, it shall be unlawful to <br />commence filling of any site, or alteration of any drainageway, <br />or construction of any street or utility improvement within the <br />Flood Hazard District until the county building inspector has <br />-17- <br />
