<br />36. FARM: A plot of land devoted to agriculture. <br /> <br />37. FEEDLOT: A closely confined area for the feeding, fat- <br />tening of livestock, or dairying, as contrasted with graz- <br />ing or pasture of livestock; where such use is not inci- <br />dental and subordinate to a general ranch operation, it <br />shall be considered a principal use of the tract or lot <br />and dwellings shall be prohibited. <br /> <br />38. FLOOD: A temporary rise in a watercourse, flow or stage, <br />that results in water overlapping its banks and inundating <br />areas adjacent to the channel. <br /> <br />39. FLOOD ELEVATION BENCH MARKS: Permanent points set to pro- <br />vide elevations for determining the Low Hazard Zone and <br />Floodway Zone. <br /> <br />40. FLOOD HAZARD DISTRICT: Any floodplain or portion thereof <br />which the surface elevation of the intermediate regional <br />flood has been determined: flood elevation benchmarks <br />have been established on the ground and referenced by map <br />and shown on the "Official Zoning Map" of Fremont County <br />Colorado. <br /> <br />41. FLOODPLAIN: Means any area adjacent to the stream, which <br />area is subject to flooding as the result of the occurence <br />of an intermediate regional flood and which area thus is so <br />adverse to past, current or foreseeable construction or land <br />use as to constitute a significant hazard to public health <br />and safety or to property. The term includes but is not <br />limited to: <br /> <br />a. Mainstream floodplains <br /> <br />b, Debris - fan floodplain <br /> <br />c. Dry wash channels and dry wash floodplains. <br /> <br />42. FLOOD PROFILE: Engineering conclusions, based upon his- <br />torical facts and/or generally accepted engineering prin- <br />ciples, represented on a graph or other medium, showing <br />the relationship of the water surface elevation of a flood <br />to the lands surrounding the channel. <br /> <br />43. FLOOD PROOFING: Means a combination of structural provi- <br />sions, changes, or adjustments to lands, properties and <br />structures subject to flooding primarily for the reduction <br />or elimination of flood damages to lands, properties, struc- <br />tures, and contents of buildings in a flood hazard area. <br /> <br />44. FLOODWAY ZONE: That area or tract within the Flood Hazard <br />District not herein defined as the "Low Hazard Zone". <br /> <br />-8- <br />
