Through this check, we found that substantial errors
existed throughout the mapping project.

On June 10, 1980, with the financial assistance of the
Eastern Fremont County MetropoliLan Sewage Disposal District
(EFCMSDO), we contracted with M&I Consulting Engineers, a
licensed land surveyor, to completely verify our findings. This
action was prompted because of the no-response attitude which we
received rrom Mr. Hupp.

On July 18, 1980, we received the results of the M&I mapping
checks, which showed LhdL portions or the mapping did nol m(,(,t
the contracted specirications.

On August 12, 1980, after numerous conversations with the
City, County, EFCMSSO, and Ponderosa Engineering officials, we
prepared a leter and oFricially informed Mr. Rupp of the problems
and provided suggestions on how to proceed to correct the maps.

On August 20, 1980, the City of Canon City by letter
instructed Mr. Rupp to correct the map errors and also restated
the urgency for completing the mapping and engineering studies.
