<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WATER CONSERVATION/WATER USE EFFICIENCY <br />GRANT PROGRAM <br /> <br />GRANT ELIGffiILITY <br />As authorized in HE 1154, all public agencies are eligible for grant awards. Grant applicants with <br />limited resources and innovative proposals showing promise for water use reduction will be given <br />special consideration. <br /> <br />PROJECT ELIGIBILITY <br />In general, water efficiency projects eligible for grant awards should be designed to expand the <br />current information known about the savings and benefits of various measures and their <br />applicability to specific situations. Although not exhaustive, the Appendix lists a range of <br />categories for potential water efficiency projects. Applicants are also encouraged to develop their <br />own innovative ideas. <br /> <br />During each grant cycle a partial list selected from the Appendix will be selected as the priorities <br />for water efficiency projects eligible for grants. The list of project categories will be announced <br />each year along with application materials. <br /> <br />TIMING <br />Opportunity to apply for grants will occur annually. Announcements will be made in early fall <br />with application deadline on or about the first of January. Grant selections will be determined <br />and awards will be made approximately 75 days after application deadlines. <br /> <br />AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS <br />As noted earlier, $500,000 have been authorized for one-time' use from the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board Construction Fund for water efficiency demonstration projects. <br /> <br />A maximum of $50,000 may be awarded to anyone applicant. Many water efficiency measures <br />will be feasible to implement for far less that the $50,000 award maximum. Awards will <br />primarily be made for projects requesting less than the maximum. <br />
