for the Town of Lyons, Colorado

The Town of Lyons retained Matrix Design Group staff,
John Blanchard, PE and Robert Krehbiel, PE, while at
BRW, Inc" as Town Engineers to address the many
complicated issues facing growth in a small mountain
town, BRW completed the following key documcnts, as
well as fulfilling the daily duties for on-call professional
servIces:

. Development of a Storm Drainage Master Plan
. Completion of the St. Vrain Creek Floodplain
Information Report
. Development of a Water System Master Plan
. Design a Storm Drainage Detention Pond
. Review Subdivision Development Plans
. Prepare a Development Impact Fee analysis

The Town of Lyons, known as the "Gateway to the
Rockies" is the first town at the foothills entrance to the
famous Rocky Mountain National Park. Lyons is a town
of approximately 1,500 residents that are experiencing
tremendous growth pressure. Professional engineering
services were vital to the community to direct growth
and plan for the expanding community needs, Utility
and roadway infrastructure were evaluated to service the
growing population.

The engineering staff worked closely with the Lyons
community to successfully develop master plans which
are implementable in the town, The floodplain analysis
work was able to strike a balance between risk/damage
and ability to fund the capital improvements,
