<br />Water Source: St. Vrain River <br />Terms of Loan: $1,040,000 @ 4.0% for 30 years <br /> <br />Project Yield: 450 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This project is the rehabilitation of Foothills Reservoir dam, located west ofLongmont in Boulder County. <br />The dam has an inadequate spillway and severe seepage through the embankment and has had a storage restriction <br />placed on it by the State Engineer. The final design plans and specifications were prepared by Smith Geotechnical <br />Engineering Consultants of Fort Collins Colorado. The proposed improvements include a new spillway, a sand <br />filter blanket along the downstream face of the dam, a perimeter toe drain with flow measuring devices, rip rap <br />placement along the upstream face of the dam, and reconstructing the dam crest. The project was awarded to Zak <br />Dirt, out of Longmont, Colorado, who commenced construction in December of 2000 and will continue working <br />on the dam face as weather permits. The project is anticipated to be completed by May of2001. <br /> <br />lO. Pine River Canal Companv - Pine River Canal Rehabilitation at Tunnel Hill <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 99-l73 <br />Water Source: Pine River <br />Terms of Loan: $243,700 @ 3.5% for 20 yrs. <br /> <br />County: La Plata - SE ofIgnacio <br />Project Yield: 7l,000 acre feet <br />Project Type: Canal Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This $350,000 project is the rehabilitation of the Pine River Canal at the Tunnel Hill site, located 8 miles <br />southeast of 19nacio. The project consists of replacing a water supply tunnel in poor condition, with <br />approximately 700 lineal feet of 72-inch diameter concrete pipe, bypassing the tunnel completely. The Natural <br />Resource Conservation Service has completed the design plans with CWCB staff completing the construction <br />bid documents. The Pine River Canal Company has retained the services of Gosney and Sons, from Bayfield, <br />Colorado, to construct the project, who commenced construction in November of 2000. The Contractor is <br />currently setting pipe and is anticipated to be completed by March of 200 l. <br /> <br />ll. Woodchuck Ditch Company - Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Small Project Loan <br />Water Source: Soda/Gunn Creeks <br />Terms of Loan: $40,000 @ 3.75% for 20 yrs. <br /> <br />County: Routt - N.W. Steamboat Springs <br />Project Yield: l,250 acre feet <br />Project Type: Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />In 1997 a significant landslide removed approximately 250-ft. of the Woodchuck Ditch. Since that time the <br />Ditch Company has spent significant time and money in temporary repairs to keep the ditch operational. In <br />1999 the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Steamboat Springs Office, was retained by the Ditch <br />Company to design a permanent solution to the problem. The proposed improvements include 400-ft. of 36- <br />inch diameter heavy wall steel pipe secured with %-inch wire rope anchored into bedrock, with inceptor drains, <br />backfilled as required to restore the natural side slope of the area. The Contractor, Percision Construction, <br />commenced construction in September of 200 and has completed the work. Project substantial completion is <br />pending until final payment request is received by the Ditch Company. <br /> <br />l2. Tunnel Water Company - LaramieIPoudre Tunnel Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Emergency Loan <br />Water Source: Laramie River <br />Terms of Loan: $1,600,000@4.75% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Larimer - W. ofFt. Collins <br />Project Yield: 15,085 ac. ft. <br />Project Type: Tunnel Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The existing LaramieIPoudre Tunnel is approximately 2 miles in length, diverting water directly from <br />the Laramie River and discharging it into Poudre River at a point approximately 60 miles west of Fort Collins. <br />17 <br />
