The final design plans and specifications were prepared by Smith Geotechnical
Engineering Consultants of Fort Collins Colorado. The proposed improvements include a new spillway, a sand
filter blanket along the downstream face of the dam, a perimeter toe drain with flow measuring devices, rip rap
placement along the upstream face of the dam, and reconstructing the dam crest. The project was awarded to Zak
Dirt, out of Longmont, Colorado, who commenced construction in December of 2000 and will continue working
on the dam face as weather permits.
