1

On the Trinidad Project there was a meet-
ing held on December 20th at Trinidad, called
by congressman Chenoweth, and attended by the
corps, the Water Conservancy District there,
the ditch companies Which compose the water
conservancy district, and the Bureau of Recla-
mation. That meeting was for the purpose of
reviewing suggestions in changes of criteria
in the operating principles. The original
criteria, which was worked out in conjunction
with the state Water Board and the state Engi-
neer, we feel resulted in an optimum operation
of that proposed project. However, there have
been suggestions made for some internal changes
and we are now testing those suggested modifi-
cations. Those modifications would not affect
the downstream river. They affect the opera-
tions only in the project area itself.

On Green Mountain afterbay we have done
only hydrologic studies this winter. Due to
the press of work on the Fryingpan-Arkansas
we have been unable to put any field forces
out on that job but we have completed some
of our hydrologic studies to determine the
increases in power production that might be
possible there and to determine the nuisance
value benefits and other benefits which nor-
mally would be considered non-paying benefits.
A test of those operations will be in order
from an economic standpoint before we go fur-
ther with the engineering studies there.

1

On the Cache la poudre in northern Colo-
rado we have completed the reconnaissance report
and it is under review. There was a steering
Committee meeting of that Board. I happen to
be a member of that committee but unfortunately
was unable to attend and if there are specific
questions I'll have to refer them to Mr. Greer
who, of course, was there.

The North Republican unit, down near Wray,
which lies both in Colorado and Nebraska, I
believe has not been brought into focus to
this Board, at least in any recent meetings.
