At 1:30 Mr. Larson of
the Bureau will be here and I have
directed some pointed inquiries at him
concerning the Paonia Project, the San
Miguel and other projects. I think
possibly at this time we could take up
the budget and get that out of the way.

You will find a copy of the budget,
a loose page, in your folders. Now this
budget is overdue. It was due on th~
15th but since the Board meeting was not
until the 17th we got a few days exten-
sion." (See Appendix D).

I

"There is only one question I have
to ask, Mr. Chairman. Does the budget
as you have it here include everything
we have been talking about this morning?"

"It does."

"There still is a question - if the
Bureau of Reclamation, Region 7, would
request the reactivation of the Narrows
survey, do we need any matching funds?"

"Mr. Miller if you will look at Item
9 - can we go through this item by item
very briefly?

Personal Services - now that included
two additional people, not three. - That
should be increased to take care of one
more person. The operating expenses were
increased slightly because of the increase
in personnel.

Our travel expense budget has been
insufficient each year, particularly I
think, as the B9ard members should be
encouraged to take in some of these
meetings. We are going to need at
least $10,000. We will try that any-
way. The $8,000 has never been suffi-
cient to cover this for several years
past.

I

The capital outlay was increased
slightly to take care of desks for the
new personnel."
