of the original project plan."

money by us?"

"That we will not know until next
week but undoubtedly it will."

"I would like to report to the Board
that the Colorado River Water Conservation
District in regard to these revisions,
specifically asked that the Bureau of Recla-
mation be requested to check the feasibility
of alternate storag!= sites."

MR. SPARKS:

"That has been done. I submitted a
letter to the Bureau requesting that that
be considered and that will be the subject
of the meeting next week.

You know the Fryingpan-Arkansas Proj-
ect has been a major headache and is con-
tinuing to be so, but it appears that
everyone now is willing to attempt to work
the thing out. I think it is in the most
helpful and most hopeful situation it has
ever been in.

I will go to the adjudication proceed-
ings for the Fryirtgpan-Arkansas Project -
the hearing on the claim for the Project -
water - in GlenwoodSprings tomorrow morn-
ing. At the urgent request of myself and
Governor McNichols, the Water Development
Association of Southeastern Colorado has
agreed to postpone their hearing and I
think that is a significant contribution
to the attempt to work this problem out.

The Board of the Colorado River Water
Conservation District has agreed to this
postponement. They will appear in court
tomorrow morning at 9:30 A. M. to request
Judge Darrow to make such postponement.
The purpose of that is, we think the prob-
lem can be ironed out so that there will
be no litigation necessary which will
create further difficulties. to the project.
