All in favor signify by saying
'aye'; opposed 'no'."

MR. SPARKS:

"The next item on the agenda and we
are going to have to move along here, is
the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project. The memo-
randum of August 21, 1958, pretty well
outlined the subject. Are there any
questions concerning that memorandum?"
(See Appendix B).

"Is it the plan of the State to ask
the Bureau of Reclamation to investigate
those alternate sites?"

I

The motion was unanimously passed.

MR. NELSON:

MR. SPARKS:

"Next week, the staff of this Board
will meet with the Bureau people from
Region 7 which is in charge of that plan,
to go into detailed discussion as to how
the recommendations contained in this
memorandum can be carried out.

Now the matter of revising the re-
port is merely a mechanical matter inso-
far as the report bears the title 'Arkan-
sas-Gunnison Project' and contains the
words that the Fryingpan-Arkansas is the
initial phase of the Gunnison-Arkansas
Project. That title has created trouble
for many years and the project report
should have been revised years ago, but
it has not been. It can be. As I say,
it is a mechanical matter which requires
some work, and we are prepared to furnish
personnel from this Board to accomplish
that work.

A more difficult matter is the matter
of relocation of Western Slope storage. I
Again in my preliminary conferences with '
the Bureau, it appears that that can be
accomplished with the cooperation of the
engineering staff and legal staff of the
Colorado River Board. If is not such a
formidable task as it might seem as most
of the reservoir sites in that area have
