<br />Chilcott Ditch Companv - Fountain Creek Diversion Structure <br /> <br />Authorization: Emergency Infrastr. Repair Account County: El Paso . <br />Water Source: Fountain Creek Project Yield: 7,425 acre feet <br />Terms of Loan: $250,000 @ 4.00% for 30 yrs. Project Type: Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The April/May flood of 1999 destroyed the existing Chilcott diversion structure. The structure <br />was breached and approximately 300-ft. of the right abutment was washed away during the flood event. <br />The total estimated project cost to replace the structure is $1,300,000, 75% coming from the Federal <br />Emergency Watershed Program and the remaining 25% coming from the CWCB Construction Loan <br />Program and the Chilcott Ditch Company. The project was designed by the Natural Resource <br />Conservation Service (NRCS), Colorado Springs Office. The project is being constructed by Chilcott <br />Ditch Company forces, under a separate Agreement between NRCS and Chilcott Ditch Company. <br />Construction commenced in February 2000 and is approximately 60% complete. The project is <br />tentatively scheduled for completion in April of2000. <br /> <br />DNR - Division of Wildlife - Native Aquatic Species Restoration Facilitv <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 98-1189 County: Alamosa - W of Alamosa <br />Water Source: San Luis Valley Aquifers Project Yield: NI A <br />Terms of Loan: $2,000,000 Grant Project Type: Aquatic Species Hatchery <br /> <br />This $6,000,000 project is the construction of a Native Aquatic Species Restoration Facility just <br />west of Alamosa. The project is being managed and 60% funded by the Division of Wildlife. FishPro, <br />Inc. of Port Orchard, Washington completed project design and construction contract documents early <br />1999. The selected facility consists of two hatchery buildings, four outdoor rearing ponds, four shallow <br />wells, two deep wells, a head tank with mixing and cooling equipment, an effluent building, a garage and <br />shop building, and a private residence for the caretaker. The construction contract was awarded to . <br />Southwest Contracting, Inc. of Cortez July 16, 1999. Construction commenced in August 1999 and is <br />currently 70% complete. The project is tentatively scheduled to be completed in May of2000. <br /> <br />Model Land and Reservoir Companv - Model Reservoir Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Emergency Infrastr. Repair Account County: Jefferson - NW of Arvada <br />Water Source: Purgatoire River Project Yield: 6,000 ac,[t. <br />Terms of Loan: $335,000 @3.75% for 30 years Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />In May of 1999 a flood event originating in the local basin overtopped the existing outlet <br />conduit, damaging the outlet gate tower, the dam embankment, and causing downstream property <br />damage. The proposed project to resolve the emergency situation consists of constructing a new outlet <br />tower and conduit, repairing the da!11 embankment, the construction of a concrete parapet wall, and the <br />installation of water level and discharge recording devices. The [mal design plans were completed by <br />URS Greiner, Denver, CO, and are currently under final review at the State Engineer's Office. The <br />project was awarded to TLM Construction, from Swink, CO, who commenced construction in January <br />2000. The project is 35% complete and is tentatively scheduled for completion in May of 2000 at a total <br />estimated cost of $700,000. <br /> <br />Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Companv - Summit Reservoir and Ditch Svstem Rehab. <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 97-008 County: Montezuma - NE of Cortez <br />Water Source: Lost Canyon Creek Project Yield: 4,287 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $200,000 @ 3.75% for 30 yearsProject Type: Reservoir and Ditch Rehab. <br /> <br />This $270,000 project is the rehabilitation of the Summit Reservoir Dam outlet works and the <br />construction of repairs and improvements to the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company's water <br /> <br />. <br />
