This condition created an emergency $60,000 repair to construct a new diversion dike to redirect the <br />river back towards the existing diversion structure headgate. The Irrigation Company has retained the service_ <br />of G.A.S.P.. out of Fort Morgan, to prepare the final design plans and specifications to construct a new concret'- <br />diversion structure. utilizing Obermeyer pneumatic gates and a radial flush gate. Construction is tentatively <br />scheduled to commence in NovemberlDecember of 2000. <br /> <br />8. North Poudre Irrigation Companv - Reservoirs No.4. 5 and Indian Creek Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: HB 98-173 County: Weld - N. of Fort Collins <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre Project Yield: 9,363 acre feet <br />Terms of Loan: $1,107.000 @ 4.04% for 20 yrs. Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This project involves the rehabilitation of Reservoirs 4, 5 and Indian Creek. The Irrigation Company has <br />retained the services of Smith Geotechnical, out of Fort Collins, Colorado to prepare design plans and <br />specifications for the proposed improvements. Improvements to Reservoir No.5 were designed and completed in <br />1999. Indian Creek and No. Reservoirs are currently under design. The proposed improvements to Indian Creek <br />Reservoir involve a new 500-fl. long spillway, replacement of the outlet structure, new toe drains, and reshaping <br />the downstream dam face. The proposed improvements to Reservoir No.4 include, relocation of the spillway to <br />the center of the dam, replacing the existing outlet structure and Parshall flume, new toe drains. rip rap <br />placement, and reshaping the upstream face of the darn. Construction of Reservoir 4 and Indian Creek are <br />tentatively scheduled to occur in the Spring of 2001. <br /> <br />9. Owl Creek Supplv and Ditch Companv - Hvdraulic Structure Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: HB 00-1419 County: Weld - N. of Greeley <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre Project Yield: 30,000 acre feet <br />Terms of Loan: $450,000 @ 4.00% for 30-years Project Type: Structure Rehabilitation e <br /> <br />The Owl Creek Supply and Irrigation Company operates and maintains 12 miles of the Owl Creek Ditch. <br />The existing hydraulic structures along the 12 miles of ditch, such as; check structures. drop structures. <br />measuring weirs, flumes, gates, etc., have severely deteriorated over the years and are in the need of replacement. <br />The proposed project involves the replacement of 14 major structures. 55 flumes, IO-meter gates. and 30 <br />headgates, to be designed by Smith Geotechnical, Ft. Collins, Colorado. Construction is tentatively schedule to <br />commence in January of 2001. <br /> <br />10. Weld Countv Tri-Area Sanitation District - Regional Detention Pond <br />Authorization: HB 00-1419 County: Weld - S. of Frederick <br />Water Source: nJa Project Yield: nJa <br />Terms of Loan: $1,500.000 @ 5.00% for 3o-years Project Type: Regional Detention Pond <br /> <br />The communities of Dacono, Frederick, Evanston, and Firestone have consistently experienced flooding <br />problems due to storm runoff from irrigated farmlands and adjacent developments. These communities have <br />suffered many recorded flooding events, dating back to 1957, which caused in excess of $300,000 in flood <br />related damages. With significant population growth occurring within the District, the District cooperated in the <br />development of the 1-25 Corridor Master Drainage Plan. The master drainage plan recommended that the <br />existing detention pond located on the south side of Frederick be enlarged to a regional detention pond. to <br />mitigate future flood damage to the surrounding communities. The regional detention pond would encompass <br />over 60 acres of land and store approximately 146 acre-feet of stormwater during a 100-year event. The Sears- <br />Brown Group is completing the design in 2000, with construction tentatively scheduled to commence in the <br />February 2001. <br /> <br />11.
