Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br />. This project consists of the replacement of the entire upper 12 feet of the DeWeese Dye dam crest. The <br />ew crest section will include reinforcing bar anchors drilled and grouted into the original dam and a new <br />drainage/seepage control system. GEl Consultants, Inc. of Englewood, CO completed project design and <br />construction contract documents. The construction contract was awarded to Blattner and Sons, Construction Co., <br />Inc. of Avon, Minnesota July 19, 1999. Construction commenced in August with completion scheduled for <br />November 1999. <br /> <br />Leroux Creek Water Users Association - Carl Smith Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Emergency Infrastructure Account County: Delta - N of Hotchkiss <br />Water Source: Leroux Creek Project Yield: 750 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $300,000 @ 4.0% for 30 years . Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br />This emergency loan project is the re-construction of the Carl Smith Dam, located 15 miles north of <br />Hotchkiss in Delta County, which failed unexpectedly in May 1998. The Leroux Creek Water Users Association <br />contracted Smith Geotechnical Engineering Consultants of Forth Collins to analyze design alternatives and <br />complete construction plans and specifications. Construction commenced by Zak Dirt of Longmont in September <br />and is scheduled for completion in November 1999. <br /> <br />Wood Lake Mutual Water & Irrigation Comuanv - Wood Lake Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 97-008 County: Weld- W of Eaton <br />Water Source: Cache la Poudre River Project Yield: 3,106 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $188,000 @ 3.75% for 30 years Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br />This project is the replacement of the Wood Lake Dam outlet works including all control structures, <br />..!.nstallation of a toe drain, raising the existing saddle dam, and construction of a spillway to pass the 50% Probable <br />.aximum Precipitation flood. The need for the improvements is a result of the State Engineer's Office dam safety <br />requirements. Smith Geotechnical, Inc. of Fort Collins commenced design in late spring 1998. Construction <br />commenced by Barker Construction Company of Fort Collins in September and is scheduled for completion in <br />late I 999. <br /> <br />Pinon Mesa Ranches Community Association - Rural Raw Water Svstem Construction <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 97-008 County: La Plata - W ofIgnacio <br />Water Source: Florida River Project Yield: 125 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $258,000 @ 3.75% for 30 yrs Project Type: Diversion and Dist. System <br />This $345,000 project is the construction of a new ruraI raw water irrigation and distribution system in La <br />Plata County west of Ignacio. The project consists of construction of a concrete diversion structure and pump <br />station at the Florida River, a transmission pipeline from the diversion to a storage impoundment, and construction <br />of approximately 9,000 feet of distribution pipeline from the storage impoundment to the water users. RMI <br />Environmental Services of Farmington, New Mexico prepared the project design. Project construction <br />commenced September 2, 1997 by RMI Environmental Services of Farmington, New Mexico (a design/build <br />contractor). This project is the construction of a Native Aquatic Species Restoration Facility just west of Alamosa. The <br />project is being managed and 60% funded by the Division of Wildlife.
