<br />, <br /> <br />- - <br />'Vater Project Construction Loan Program <br />Design and Construction Status Report <br /> <br />---~___ne <br /> <br />The CWCB Project Planning and Construction Section has completed one project in FY 99-00. Currently <br />.we have 12 projects under construction and 10 projects in the design phase. . <br /> <br />The attached spreadsheet summarizes project status including budget, construction schedule, and progress <br />to date. The project that was completed during the current reporting period and is highlighted at the end of this <br />report. <br /> <br />The attached progress report briefly outlines all active project design and construction information and <br />progress to date. <br /> <br />Projects Under Construction <br /> <br />Excelsior Irrigating Companv - Excelsior Ditch Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: SB 97-008 County: Pueblo - E of Pueblo <br />Water Source: Arkansas River Project Yield: 4,250 ad\. <br />Terms of Loan: $230,000@3.75% for 30 yrs Project Type: Ditch Rehabilitation <br />This $335,000 project is the re-construction of approximately 2 miles of open ditch, which has previously <br />been abandoned and farmed over. Also included in the project is the construction of several pump stations for <br />water delivery. The project is located in Pueblo County 10 miles east of Pueblo. Project design was prepared by <br />the Pueblo Office of the Natural Resource Conservation Service, Ralph Adkins, P.E. of Pueblo, Irrigation <br />Engineering of Alamosa and Hendrooke Sprinklers of Ft. Collins. Project construction commenced by the owner <br />and several sub-contractors in May 1998 with project completion scheduled for faIl 1999. Flood damage occurred <br />to the project during the summer of 1999 and has delayed the project for an undetermined amount of time. <br /> <br />Fort Morgan. City of - NCWCD Southern Pipeline Extension <br /> <br />Muthorization: SB94-029, SB98-ll89, Svrnce Tax County: WeldIMorgan - W ofFt. Morgan <br />"ater Source: Colo.-Big Thompson/Windy Gap Project Yield: 6,877 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $5,500,000 @4% for 40 years Project Type: Pipeline Construction <br />$8,000,000 @ 4% for 30 years <br />This project is an extension of the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District's Southern Pipeline <br />Project. The pipeline extension wiIl provide western slope water to the City of Fort Morgan for its municipal use. <br />Montgomery Watson, Inc. of Denver completed the project design, from the HudsonlFt. Lupton extension at <br />PlatteviIle, to the Fort Morgan area, in June. The constrUction contract was awarded to BRB Contractors, Inc. of <br />Topeka, Kansas and construction commenced September I, 1998. Construction is ahead of schedule, <br />approximately 90% complete, with project completion scheduled for late 1999. <br /> <br />Julesburg Irrigation District - Harmonv Ditch #1 Diversion Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Emerg. Infrastructure Repair Account County: Logan ~ SW of Crook <br />Water Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 40,000 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $590,000 @3.75% for 30 years Project Type: Diversion Rehabilitation <br />This project is the emergency rehabilitation of the Julesburg Irrigation District's Harmony Ditch #1 <br />diversion structure on the South Platte River 4 miles southwest of Crook. The structure was damaged by the 1997 <br />South Platte floods and is critical to the operation of the Company's Julesburg Reservoir. Zoyiopoulos & <br />Associates of Greeley prepared the design plans and the construction contract was awarded to Concrete Specialties, <br />Inc. of Sterling in early January 1999. Construction is currently 60% complete. Due to the threat of low spring <br />runoff, the District decided to complete 50% of the diversion dam and 100% of the headgate structure, demobilize <br />the contractor, and complete the project in the fall. Construction has re-commenced with project completion <br />.heduled for November 1999. . <br />
