<1

acre-feet of ....ter impounded. This proposed outlet capacity is approved
as reasonably satisfactory considering the requirements of both flood
damage prevention and diversions from flood flows by downstream junior
appropriators. While a somewhat larger outlet capacity may b~ desired
by ditches downstream in Water Districts I and 64, the infrequency of
floods in Cherry Creek, and the relatively small amounts of water
contributed by Cherry Creek to the supplies diverted and used ~rom the
South Platte River, do not appear to justify further enl~gement of ~he
capacity of the outlet work.. beyond that defined in the Wanamaker
reconnnendation.

4. Re-design the outlet works so as to secure the most economy.
Approved as written.

5. All outlet.. will be gate controlled. Approved as written.

6. The operation of the reservoir to be in accordance with rules
and regulations to be agreed upon by the Corps of Engineers and the
Bureau of Reclamation, and if ~he Bureau of Reolamation1prefers,
because of its limitations on jurisdiction or some other reason, that
we deal directly with the State, we will draw up the regulations
directly with the State Engineer as ~epreBenting the State. This
committee of the Colorado Water Conservation Board sQ[gests that the
foregoing proposed recommendation be revised to read:

"The operation of the proposed Cherry Creek
project, after its construction, shall be in
accordance.with rules and regulations.to be
agreed upon between the appropriate federal
agencies and the State Engineer of the State
of Colorado."

/s/
/s/
IsY

J. fl.
