Suuu1v Irrigation Ditch Comuanv - Knoth Reservoir Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 01-157 County: Montezuma <br />Water Source: Dolores River Project Yield: 7,840 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $7,260,000 @3.50% for 30-years Project Type: Distribution System <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The District's WETPACK (Water for Everyone's Tomorrow Package) proposal is intended to better manage the <br />available resources of the Dolores Project to provide an additional! 3,300 acre-feet of water for the fishery below <br />McPhee Dam, increase municipal water supplies, and to provide water of the irrigation of additional lands. This <br />project involves a system of pipelines, pumps, and related facilities to deliver water to the District's Dove Creek Canal <br />system for the irrigation of 4,000 acres of new lands that are presently dry land farmed. Water will be delivered to <br />irrigators in pipes under pressure for sprinkler irrigation only. Harris Water Engineers, of Durango, Colorado, is the <br />planning and design consultant for the project. Construction is tentatively scheduled to commence in the summer of <br />2002. <br /> <br />12. Kenosha Trout Club Lininger Lake Dam Rehabilitation and Water Purchase <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 01-157 Severance Tax County: Park <br />Water Source: Beaver Creek Project Yield: 156 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $600,000 @5.50% for 30-years Project TYlle: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Kenosha Trout Club is located 8 miles southwest of the Town of Grant, near Kenosha Pass. Lininger Lake, <br />which is used for fish, wildlife, and recreation purposes by subdiVision residents, is supplied by a junior water right <br />that cannot be filled unless its consumptive use due to evapClratidn is replaced. The estimated average annual <br />divertable volume is 110 acre-feet, and the evaporative loss needing augmentation is 46 acre-feet. The Association <br />plans on purchasing senior water rights that are suitable for augn'lentation. Dam improvements include installing a <br />low level outlet structure and raising the crest of the dam approximately 12-inches. Leonard Rice Consulting Water <br />Engineers completed the feasibility study. Dam improvements are tentatively scheduled for construction if the Winter <br />of 2002. <br /> <br />Authorization: <br />Water Source: <br />Terms of Loan: <br /> <br />C<)unl)f: Boulder - N.E. of Lyons <br />St. Vrain Creek Project Yield: :9,500 acre-feet <br />$1,700,000 @3.50% for 30-years Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Supply Irrigation Ditch Company is proposing to rehabilitate the Knoth Reservoir for use as an equalizer, and for <br />storage under a conditional decree for 542 acre-feet. The average annual volume diverted now is 9,500 acre-feet, <br />which will be increased to 10,040 acre-feet with the project improvements in place. The planned improvements <br />include, reshaping the upstream face of the dams and the placetfient of clay, installation of a toe drain, construction of <br />200 foot long, spillway, placement of rip rap, raising the datu cr~st on both dams to gage height 30-ft., removal of two <br />abandoned outlets, and the repair of the existing outlet to a good working condition. The proposed improvements are <br />being designed by Smith Geotechnical, of Fort Collins, Colorado, and are planned to be constructed in the <br />winter/spring of 2002. <br /> <br />14. Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Cedar Mesa Ditch and Reservoir Company operates the C6dar Mesa Dam for the benefit of its 24 shareholders. <br />The existing reservoir can store 902 acre-feet and is formed by a dam 47-feet high and 1,250 feet long. The dam was <br />constructed prior to 1900 and has been repaired a number of times over the years. In June of 2000 the State Engine~r'se <br />Office identified a seepage problem along the downstreall1 slope and imposed a restriction on storage. Knight Piesold, <br />Denver, Colorado, has completed tbe feasibility study and is currently working on the design plans. Construction is <br /> <br />i <br />31 i <br />
