Both fish came from Lon Hagler <br />Reservoir. <br /> <br />. GRA YLING: One fish, released, 16 inches. The fish was caught at Crosho Reservoir. <br /> <br />NEW HUNTING BROCHURES: Hunters can begin planning for fall with the DOW's new hunting <br />brochures and limited license applications. Big game brochures, with the application and regulations for <br />deer, elk, antelope and bear hunting, have been msiled to resident and non-resident bunters who <br />participated in lsst year's limited license drawing snd to resident and non-resident 11lmters who purchased <br />over-the-counter deer licenses in 1998. The brochvre, which was mailed a week earlier than 1998's, is <br />available at DOW service centers and most sporting good stores. <br /> <br />Moose brochures are being mailed this week to re"ident and non-resident hunters who applied in last <br />year's limited license drawing. The brochures are NOT available at sporting good stores, but can be <br />obtained at Divi"ion service centers, or by calling (303) 297-1192. <br /> <br />Sheep and Goat Brochures are currently available lIt Division offices and most sporting good stores. <br />They have been mailed to resident and non-resident hunters who applied in last year's limited license <br />drawing. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The deadline for all limited license applications is April 6. <br /> <br />Hunters can request a brochure and receive help filling out limited license applications by calling the <br />DOW at (303) 297-1192 or bye-mailing the DOwthrough the DOW's Web site at <br />www.dnr.state.co.us/wildlife..de .; <br /> <br />WILDLIFE COMMISSION DISCUSSES PREDATOR POLICY, BIG GAME IlVNTING, <br />PRAIRIE DOG RELOCATION: The Wildlife Commission gave preliminary consideration to a new <br />five-year season structure for big game hunting at its March II meeting. Commissioners also discussed <br />the number of deer licenses for the 1999 big game season, regulations for the relocations of prairie dogs <br />and other rodents, and a process to develop a policy for the management of predators such as lions, bears <br />and coyotes. <br /> <br />The Commission also discussed draft regulations for the relocation of prairie dogs from county to <br />county, and heard emotional testimony from groups supporting the movement of prairie dogs when the <br />rodents are threatened by development. The DOW presented a draft regulation that aIlows for prairie <br />dogs and other rodents to be relocated providing the habitat is suitable and affected landowners and local <br />government officials have had the opportunity to consider and comment on proposed relocations. The <br />regulation will be considered at the Commission's May meeting in Gunnison. <br /> <br />The Commission also considered and gave guidance to the DOW on the development of a predator <br />management policy. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />13 <br />
