Present <br />annual federal funds from this source, $115,000. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Now these are evaluated by the federal <br />office and they choose to fund those which are <br />of more interest on a national scale than per- <br />haps we would choose ourselves in Colorado. <br />Nevertheless, what we submit for matching <br />through the program can insure Colorado's needs <br />too, and unless they are too local we have as <br />much chance of funding them as some kind of a <br />big, broad project that we might be less inter-. <br />ested in, particularly here in Colorado." <br /> <br />MR. It is quite possible we won't be <br />able to cover all of them because we have just <br />about used all state funds that we already had <br />on hand here, so we are kind of at the point <br />of saturation. I'll stop with that point, but <br />I suppose if we look at problems for us, and by <br />problems I mean you and the center, this Board, <br />and other state agencies, to take advantage of <br />this federal fund availability for research on <br />our state problems, we ought, of course, to <br />generate state funds for the matching of them. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Thank you very much for this opportunity to <br />
