Water Conservation Board and the Bureau of
Reclamation has fulfilled its mandate as
instructed by the Water Conservation Board
and supported by appropriations of the State
of Colorado for the Fiscal Year 1961 and 1962
in regards to the South Platte River. until
such time the study is completed and hearings
have been held with the information contained
in the.'report widely disseminated so all interested
may evaluate the study. It is our opinion the Dam
should be located at such place as to benefit the
majority. If located at the Weld County Site
it is possible to benefit 94% of Morgan County,
and if located at the Narrows site, only 28%
of Morgan County will be benefited.'

emphasizes, and it is my understanding, that
everybody down in that area wants the project."

need a downstream reservoir on the south Platte
River and we mustn't favor only Morgan County
but other adjoining counties as well, where it
can work in and dovetail and fill the needs."

think we are all in agreement on that."

of the report of the Colorado Water
Investigation Commission and particularly with
reference to the Water Resources Planning Act
of 1961. I know we have all had a good deal
of correspondence from the Board staff on this
matter. and I'd like to ask Don Hamburg, Who is
the Secret~ry for the Investigation Commission,
to make th1.s report."
