A joint venture between Barnard Construction, <br />Inc. of Bozeman, Montana and Affholder Construction, Inc. of Chesterfield, Missouri was awarded <br />the construction contract for Phase II, at a cost of $44,000,000. Construction of Phase II <br />commenced in December 1999 and is approximateiy:85% complete. Conso/itlAt..d Mutual Water Comnanv - Fortune Reservoir Dam Construction <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 99-173 <br />Water Source: Clear Creek <br />Tenns of Loan: $16,300,000@4.75%for 10 years <br /> <br />County: Jefferson - NW of Arvada <br />Project Yield: 8,869 ae.ft. <br />Project Type: New Dam Construction <br /> <br />This $20,000,000 project is the construction of a new 9,000 acre-foot reservoir northwest of <br />Arvada. The project consists of a 105-foot high, zoned earth embankment, Probable Maximum <br />Flood emergency spillway, with a 30-inch diameter outlet pipe. Tuttle-Applegate, Inc. of Denver <br />and CTL!Thompson compieted the fmal design plans, which have been reviewed and approved by <br />the State Engineer's Office. The construction contract was awarded to R.E. Monk from Colorado <br />Springs, Colorado, at a contract price of $15,000,000. The distribution pipeline from the darn to <br />the Company's treatment plant commenced construction in October 1999 by Company forces. R.E. <br />Monk commenced construction in March.of2000, with project completion scheduled for March of <br />2002. The project is approximately 65% complete. <br /> <br />5. Jackson Lake Reservoir and Irril!lrtion Comoanv Diversion Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: HB 00-1419 <br />Water Source: South Platte River <br />Tenns of Loan: $336,600 @ 4.00% for 30 yrs. <br /> <br />County: Weld-E. of Greeley <br />Project Yield: 34,000 acre feet <br />Project Type: Diversion Structure <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />This project is the rehabilitation of the Jackson Lake Reservoir and Irrigation Company's <br />diversion structure on the South Platte River. The existing Structure suffered severe damage in <br />1995 and again in 1999, when the river cut around the south abutment. GAS.P. from Fort <br />Morgan, Colomdo was retained by the Ditch Company to prepare the final design plans and <br />specifications to construct a new 2oo-ft. long concrete diversion structure, involving 100-f\. of <br />9benneyer pneumatic gates and 100-ft of a concrete short wall, with a 16.ft. long downstream flat <br />slab jump basin. The Contractor, Boone Excavating; out ofFort Morgan, Colorado, commenced <br />construction in late August 2000 and completed the project in November of 2000. The Jackson <br />Lake Reservoir and Irrigation Company have amended their existing loan contract to cover an <br />additional construction cost ovemm of $55,000. The amended loan contract is anticipated to be <br />completed in March of 200 1 with substantial compietion tentatively set for April of 200 I. <br /> <br />6. Idaho SDrIn2s. Town of Idaho - Idaho Snritul:s Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: HB 98-1189 <br />Water Source: Chicago Creek <br />Tenns of Loan: $955,000 @4.75% for 10 yrs. <br /> <br />County: Larimer - S. ofIdaho Springs <br />Project Yield: 230 acre feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />In 1998 the State Engineer's Office restricted'the stomge height of the reservoir to be 9-ft. . <br />below the crest of the darn, reducing the storage capacity from 230 acre-ft. to 120 acre-ft. The <br />storage restriction was due to excessive seepage and the poor condition of the spillway. Harrison <br />Western Construction, and designlbuild group out of Denver, Colorado, was retained by the Town <br />
