Excelsior Irrigatiruz Comoanv - Excelsior Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 97-008 <br />Water Source: Arkansas River <br />Terms of Loan: $251,125 @3.75%for30yrs <br /> <br />County: Pueblo - E of Pueblo <br />Project Yieid: 4,250 3O.ft. <br />Project Type: Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This $335,000 project is the re-construction of approximately 2 miles of open ditch, which <br />has previously been abandoned and fanned over. Also included in the project is the construction of <br />several pwnp stations for water delivery. The project is located in Pueblo County 10 miles east of <br />Pueblo. Project design was prepared by the Pueblo Office of the Natural Resource Conservation <br />Service, Ralph Adkins, P.E. of Pueblo, Irrigation Engineering of Alamosa and Hendrooke <br />Sprinklers of Ft. Collins. Project construction commenced by the owner and several sub- <br />contractors in May 1998 and was originally scheduled for completion in the fall of 1999. Flooding <br />damaged the project area during the summer of 1999 that has delayed the project's completion <br />schedule until Spring/Summer of 200 I. <br /> <br />2. Otero Ditch Compal\Y - Diversion Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB <br />Water Source: Arkansas River <br />Terms of Loan: $15S,000@4.0%for30yrs <br /> <br />County: Otero - N.W. of Fowler <br />Project Yield: 20,687 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Diversion Structure <br /> <br />. The Otero Ditch Company diverts water directly from the Arkansas River <br />approximately I mile northwest of the Town of Fowler. The existing diversion structure and <br />right abutment were washed out during flooding in April and May of 1999. This $620,000 <br />project inVOlves stabilizing 2000 I.f. of streambank, the construction of a l82-ft. iong concrete <br />diversion wall, 3-ft. high with a l1-ft. wide concrete stilling basin, and a new concrete outlet <br />control structure with a 20-ft wide by 8-ft. high opening. The Natural Resource Conservation <br />Service (NRCS), who is additionally funding 75 % of the total construction cost, designed the <br />project. Schrepfer Industries, from Trinidad, Colorado, commenced construction in January <br />of 2000 and have completed the work. The Otero Ditch Company is currently operating the <br />new outlet and diversion structures. Project substantial completion is tentatively scheduled <br />for April, 2001. <br /> <br />3. Ute Water Conservancv District - Plateau Creek Pineiine <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 88-30 <br />Water Source: Grand Mesa Drainage <br />Terms of Loan: $27,600,000 @5%for 30 years <br /> <br />County: Mesa - E of Palisade <br />Project Yield: 7,200 3O.ft. <br />Project Type: Pipeline Construction <br /> <br />This $55,000,000 project is the replacement of an existing IS-mile pipeline providing water <br />to the Ute Water Conservancy District. The District provides water to 55,000 people, or more than <br />half of the Grand Valley population. Camp, Dresser, & McKee, Inc. of Denver has completed final <br />design and construction contract docwnents for Phase II of the project. Phase I of the project, <br />placement of the lower 8,000 linear foot of the pipeline, commenced in February by ERS <br />Constructors, Inc. of Sedalia, CO. and was completed in May 1999. Phase II involves the <br />installation of 26,000-ft. of 48" waterline pipe, 29,500-ft. of 54" waterline pipe, and the <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I <br />
