and gentlemen, it's a pleasure to be here
" .
today and give you a report on Region 7 activi-
ties. You have an item on your agenda for a
comp~ete report of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Proj-
ect which Jim Ogilvie will give you later and
we are especially pleased that you are meeting
here today. It is so appropriately timed as to
permit you to participate in the groundbreaking
ceremon~es at Ruedi tomorrow. We are very
happy about this event. This is the start of
the Fry-Ark Project from a construction stand-
point so we are most pleased you are here with
us.

The North Republican unit in the Missouri
River Basin Project has been investigated and
this investigation has been terminated. Copies
of our wrap_up report have been forwarded to
federal and state agencie's, and'local interests,
for their information, comments and advice.

Nothing is active on the St. Francis unit.

On the Narrows unit of the Missouri River
Basin, we are completing our comparative esti-
mates of the Weld County and Narrows sites,
using the geologic engineering information that
has been provided to us by your consultants,
Woodward,Clyde and Sherard, and also your con-
sultants on land acquisition costs within the
reservoir basins and we hope to have these
comparative estimates, taking full advantage
of the latest data, much of which is on Weld
County, to permit us to fully evaluate the site
in comparison to Narrows, to your staff before
the end of the month.

Our work is proceeding on the Cache la
Poudre unit to the Missouri River Basin Project.
The water supply studies are nearing completion
on the with and without conditions of the proj-
ect to _determine what this project will provide
in the way of new regulated water supplies. We
are also in the process of making some seepage
measurements on canals in the area which might
