You have an item on your agenda for a <br />comp~ete report of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Proj- <br />ect which Jim Ogilvie will give you later and <br />we are especially pleased that you are meeting <br />here today. It is so appropriately timed as to <br />permit you to participate in the groundbreaking <br />ceremon~es at Ruedi tomorrow. We are very <br />happy about this event. This is the start of <br />the Fry-Ark Project from a construction stand- <br />point so we are most pleased you are here with <br />us. <br /> <br />The North Republican unit in the Missouri <br />River Basin Project has been investigated and <br />this investigation has been terminated. Copies <br />of our wrap_up report have been forwarded to <br />federal and state agencie's, and'local interests, <br />for their information, comments and advice. <br /> <br />Nothing is active on the St. Francis unit. <br /> <br />On the Narrows unit of the Missouri River <br />Basin, we are completing our comparative esti- <br />mates of the Weld County and Narrows sites, <br />using the geologic engineering information that <br />has been provided to us by your consultants, <br />Woodward,Clyde and Sherard, and also your con- <br />sultants on land acquisition costs within the <br />reservoir basins and we hope to have these <br />comparative estimates, taking full advantage <br />of the latest data, much of which is on Weld <br />County, to permit us to fully evaluate the site <br />in comparison to Narrows, to your staff before <br />the end of the month. <br /> <br />Our work is proceeding on the Cache la <br />Poudre unit to the Missouri River Basin Project. <br />The water supply studies are nearing completion <br />on the with and without conditions of the proj- <br />ect to _determine what this project will provide <br />in the way of new regulated water supplies. We <br />are also in the process of making some seepage <br />measurements on canals in the area which might <br />
