<br />give us some indication of what modifications <br />and improvements could be made and incorporated <br />into this project investigation. <br /> <br />The report on the Trinidad project is <br />ready to go to the printers, or is in the bands <br />of the printers by now. We had a review with <br />members of your staff and Mr. ROss, an attorney <br />for the conservancy district, last week and we <br />explained to them the findings and the problems <br />that lie ahead of us in developing a repayment <br />contract and getting the Bureau's part of the <br />project under way to the point where the Corps' <br />construction can proceed in an orderly fashion. <br />We see, presently, no problems in having our <br />part of the work done so that the Corps could <br />initiate construction next spring or early <br />summer when the construction season opens. <br />However, we do have a lot of work to be done <br />on this project and we will need help from mem- <br />bers of the Board and all other participants <br />in this activity. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Additional funds in the amount of $7,000 <br />were furnished by the Board for the Upper Platte <br />River studies. He are in the process of prepar- <br />ing a letter-type report which will give you <br />information on the Two Forks Reservoir with a <br />capacity of approximately one million acre-feet <br />to be constructed in the Platte Canyon above <br />Waterton. There is an afterbay facility that <br />might be desirable below this reservoir to re- <br />regulate power discharges and an offstream <br />reservoir at the Box Elder Creek site below <br />Denver for the possible conservation of return <br />flows below the metropolitan area. ~'le hope to <br />have this report available for your information <br />sometime the latter part of August. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Appraisal Report on the Green Mountain <br />Afterbay has been completed and forwarded to <br />the Commissioner's office for review. <br /> <br />The spillway modifications at Granby are <br />progressing satisfactorily and the contractor <br />expects to be placing concrete by August so this <br />
