<br />69 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />(a) That the initial authorization b;: Congress for <br />construction of units of the Colorado River Storage Project <br />include and, in the Gunnison River Basin, be limited to, the <br />above described Curecanti and Crystal storage units, and that <br />the construction of the Whitewater unit be delayed for later <br />authorization. <br /> <br />(b) That the approval of Gunnison River Basin storage, as <br />a part of the Colorado River 3tora;;e Project plan, be subject to <br />the conditions set forth in Paragraph 13 a, b and c under "IV - <br />Findings and Conclusions" of the report, which are as follows: <br /> <br />a. U. S. Hir;lmay SO, because of reserlOir inunda- <br />tion of its present richt-of4vay, ,iLthout expense to <br />either the State or counties, be relocated in such a <br />manner that it will pass throueh and directly serve <br />the cities of Gunnison and :iontrose in accordance with <br />plans approved by the Department of Higlr:;ays, State of <br />Colorarlo; and the necessarJ access and approach roads, <br />which now connect with U. S. Highway SO to serve conllInmi- <br />ties and activities in the area, and which will be de- <br />stroyed by reservoir inundation, be replaced and relo- <br />cated without expense to the State or counties, so as to <br />preserve such transportation facilities. <br /> <br />b. The provisions of federal law (64 Stat. 1100, <br />approved September 30, 1950), respecting the impact on <br />local sc~ool districts during the period of construction <br />by the Bureau of rieclamation, be strictly observed. This <br />is for the purpose of providing necessary funds for <br />additional school facilities, as well as maintenance and <br />operation thereof, occasioned by construction activities <br />of the Federal Government. <br /> <br />c. The utilization of project facilities for rec- <br />reational, fish and vdldlife purposes shall be in accordance <br />. with the follm'dng: <br /> <br />(1) That all lands and waters c.mtained within <br />the project shall be open to public hunting and <br />fishing, consistent ,vith the primary purposes of <br />the project. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />(2) That the public aceess to these lands <br />and waters be maintained at all times. <br /> <br />(3) That the project be constructed and <br />operated in accordance with Public Law 732, <br />79th Congress, 2d Session (60 Stat. 1080). <br />
