MR. GILDERSLEEVE:

I

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. CLINTON:

I

report of the South Platte Steering Committee.
Gil, are you' going to make that report?"

"Mr. Chairman, I believe at the last meet-
ing at Gunnison we reported that it looked as
though there would be a meeting of. the Steer-
ing Committee in September. But the studies
have required a little more time and it
appears now that it will be about the middle
of October."

"Anybody have any questions on that?

All right, we'll now have the reports of
the Federal agencies and inasmuch as I be-
lieve copies of their written reports are in
the folders, I would appreciate it if they
could limit their remarks to about ten minutes
each and then we'll have some questions I am
sure from the members of the Board and the
audience. So we'll start with Region 4, Mr.
Frank Clinton. Mr. Clinton, it's nice to have
you with us again."

"Mr. Stapleton, members of the Board,
guests, it's a pleasure to be back here again.
It seems only a short time since your meeting
at Gunnison when I gave you a rather lengthy
report. You will note that we have a fairly
short report this morning on our activities in
Region 4.

Our construction work has been going on
this summer taking advantage of the good
weather. We always have mixed emotions about
which is best - good weather for construction
or bad weather and moisture to fill reservoirs.
Since we did get good weather this summer we
are taking advantage of it on construction.

The Glen Canyon Dam is moving along. The
1st of September we passed the 3~ million mark
on cubic yards of concrete in place. The high-
est blocks were up about 527 feet above bed-
rock. The prime contractor had moved on the
job the latter part of July and was getting
well underway here by the 1st of September.
