The purgatoire River Water Conservancy
District executed their repayment contract
with the Bureau on the Trinidad project at
its January 21, 1967, meeting. The Secretary
of the Interior approved the contract and the
Regional Director executed the contract on
behalf of the United States on February 11th.
A hearing on validation of the contract has
been scheduled for March 20, 1967, in Dis-
trict Court, Las Animas County.

In the Upper Arkansas River Basin, data
on water salvage attributable to the Corps of
Engineers' floodway plan was compiled and
resulting irrigation benefits consistent with
the agricultural analysis developed for the
Fryingpan-Arkansas project were determined.
Investigations continued in the basin to
determine the adequacy of total water resource
versus requirements. The survey of the extent
of woody phreatophytes in the Arkansas River
valley and major tributaries by Colorado
State University and Fort Hays Kansas State
college is progressing on schedule.

Bids were opened February 2, 1967, on
the Archer Substation garage and storage
building. The contract was awarded on
February 24 to the Federer construction Com-
pany of cheyenne, wyoming, who submitted the
low bid of $13,415.

solution of the location of the access roads
to Ruedi Reservoir? YOU had some hearings
back in September or October, I remember,
and how did those work out? There was quite
a bit of protest up in that area."

"You mean the Hunter Creek deal?"

"Yes."
